Big Ideas, Little Kids: New Directions in Philosophy for Children Pedagogy

35th Annual Association for Practical and Professional Ethics Conference (with Jamie Herman)

St. Louis, MO, March 7, 2026

This talk presents a case for expanding Philosophy for Children work through the Prindle Institute for Ethics. The talk outlines the field’s foundations, clarifies our community-of-inquiry pedagogy, and documents the scale we have already built across programming and digital platforms. From there we propose next-step investments in facilitator training as well as interactive museum and library experiences, and introduce Arnold, our AI practice environment for P4C facilitation, as a needed response to the discipline’s practice gap.
